Terms of Service
Last updated: April 20, 2026
By creating an account or using Tonik, you agree to these terms. They are written plainly — if anything is unclear, write to chypi@free.fr.
1. The service
Tonik is a music-theory companion for musicians — scales, modes, and chords shown in the visual language of engraved scores. It is provided as-is, without warranty, while in early preview. Features can change, break, or disappear.
2. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials private. Do not share your account. If you suspect your password has been compromised, reset it from the log-in page, or change it from your account settings.
Tonik accounts are for personal, non-commercial use. You must be at least 16 years old to create one.
3. Acceptable use
Don’t attempt to break into the service, scrape it at scale, abuse the rate limits, send automated traffic, or impersonate other people. If you do, we may suspend or delete your account without notice.
4. Content and intellectual property
The pedagogy text, visuals, scale engine, and code are the property of Tonik and its operator. Public-domain music-theory facts and standard notation are, of course, public domain. You may read and learn from Tonik freely; you may not redistribute the site or its content as your own product.
5. Payments (future)
Tonik is free today. When paid tiers land (via Stripe, Patreon, or similar), pricing and refund terms will appear here before any charge, and you will be asked to accept them explicitly.
6. Liability
Tonik is provided without warranty to the maximum extent allowed by law. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under mandatory consumer-protection law.
7. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the account settings. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, or if we stop operating the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice when feasible.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute not resolved amicably falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France, subject to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence within the EU.
9. Changes
We can update these terms. When changes are material, we will notify you by email. Continuing to use Tonik after an update means you accept the new terms.
